Article content1.It was announced this past week that Prime Video had signed a twelve-year sub-licensing agreement with Rogers Communications to carry Wednesday Night Hockey, in both English and French. Prime will also carry two first-round playoffs series and one second-round series. I cannot argue that there is not an economic benefit to the broadcasters. That is especially true with the shutting down of the institution that used to be Hockey Night in Canada on CBC. Now, if anyone (me included) tries to argue that streaming is not the wave of the (immediate) future for live sporting events, they are misinformed.
