Kerala’s Unnimaya becomes first MBBS student from Aralam Farm after dropping out of BDS to chase her dream.
Iritty (Kerala): Driven by a dream to become a doctor, 24-year-old Unnimaya, a member of the Kurichya tribal community, has scripted an inspiring story of perseverance by becoming the first MBBS student from Aralam Farm in Kannur district.
Unnimaya, daughter of agricultural labourers C R Mohanan and Bindu, hails from the 10th block of Aralam Farm, a tribal rehabilitation area.
Unnimaya had always dreamed of becoming a doctor and admitted that, even during her time studying BDS, her heart remained firmly set on MBBS.
Today, with sheer grit and strong support from her parents and younger sister Laya, Unnimaya has overcome the odds.
