Condemning the attack, Paul Holmes, MP for Hamble Valley, said the attack is a reminder of the division in society. Mr Holmes said: “The attack on the Jewish community in Manchester was a shocking reminder of the dangers of hate and division in our society. Southampton MPs Darren Paffey and Satvir Kaur also expressed their sadness about the “vile” attack during the holiest day in the Jewish calendar, Yom Kippur. Darren Paffey, MP for Southampton Itchen, said: “I stand with Manchester’s Jewish community, and with Jewish communities across the country, including here in Southampton. “I have reached out to our Jewish community here in Southampton and to our local synagogue to offer my help and assistance and to say that they will always have my full support.”
