Electricity provider Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) reported that an estimated 19 homes have been hit by an "unplanned" power cut in the area around Delane Drive. The power cut was reported just before 10am this morning (October 4), affecting properties in postcode areas RG41 5AT and RG41 5SW. The cause of the power cut, according to the provider, is a "fault" in their underground network. "This is the most common type of fault we see," Scottish & Southern said, "and our teams are very experienced in dealing with these issues." SSEN expects to have resolved the issue and restored power by 4pm this afternoon (October 4), and promised to let customers know if they discover the fault is more severe.
