Sunday, August 2, 2026 - Police officers in Siaya have arrested three suspects linked to the robbery of a small-scale gold trader who was lured into a trap on the pretext of selling gold. According to police, the victim was persuaded to meet the suspects in a secluded area on the outskirts of Siaya Township, where they turned on him, attacking and robbing him of cash, mobile phones, and other business-related items before fleeing. Following a report lodged at Siaya Police Station, detectives launched investigations that led to the arrest of the three suspects. During the operation, officers recovered the complainant's stolen mobile phone, a motorcycle suspected to have been used during the robbery, a machete believed to have been used in the attack, and several other mobile phones suspected to be stolen. Police have also launched a manhunt for other individuals believed to have participated in the robbery, while the recovered items have been secured as exhibits.
