The consultations highlighted demands for better infrastructure, technology adoption, disease control systems, and alternative livelihood opportunities like seaweed and pearl farming. Stakeholders also welcomed government schemes and initiatives aimed at making fisheries growth more inclusive and sustainable. Technology adoption emerged as a recurring theme, with suggestions ranging from drones for transporting live fish to satellite-based solutions for fisher safety. They also called for robust disease control systems, aquatic health management, water testing laboratories, and regular capacity-building programmes for farmers.
