Barabanki: Controversy erupted recently after an MBBS student of Mayo Institute of Medical Sciences (MIMS), Barabanki, alleged facing months of mental harassment, financial extortion, and illegal suspension by the medical college. The Director General of Medical Education and Training, Uttar Pradesh (DGME, UP), set up an inquiry committee to examine the matter, and it also found the MIMS college to be "guilty", Careers 360 has reported. "I, ***, is a MBBS Batch 23-24 a student of Mayo Institute of Medical Sciences located at Barabaki District in UP. But he didn't agree then my father lodged a complaint to DM Barabanki and DGME Lucknow simultaneously. Inquiry was ordered and inquiry committee assembled on 08/09/25 in MIMS Barabanki and committee found that suspension was illegal and other facts too mentioned in complaint were factual and MIMS management Barabanki was found in fault," the medico further added.
