A 17-year veteran of the Galesburg Police Department will serve as its deputy chief. Ryne Sage, who most recently served as patrol lieutenant, was sworn in as deputy chief on July 28. Sage’s career began as a patrol officer in March 2008, progressing to investigator in September 2019, patrol sergeant in September 2020, and patrol lieutenant in January 2023 before his recent appointment. Incident Command System (levels 100, 200, 300, 400, 700, and 800), Field Training Officer, and Adaptive Field Training Officer. “Deputy Chief Ryne Sage is highly regarded by his peers and the staff he leads,” said Galesburg Police Chief Kevin Legate.
