San Francisco Giants outfielder Harrison Bader’s ill-fated late-night scooter ride has not only cost him the rest of the season, but his paychecks as well.
Giants president of baseball operations Buster Posey announced Friday that the team is suspending Bader’s salary while it investigates the circumstances of his accident.
Bader, who signed a two-year, $20.5 million contract with the team in the offseason, will miss the rest of the season due to injury.
While playing for Florida in 2014, Bader drunkenly crashed a scooter into a parked truck and was suspended for 19 games.
In 39 games with the Giants this season, he hit just .170 with five home runs.
