That's because two days of running were scheduled for this weekend at Indianapolis Motor Speedway's 2.439-mile road course layout with Ed Carpenter Racing's Alexander Rossi jumping in the cockpit Saturday.
Drivers, fans, teams, sponsors and all of you have been looking forward to it, and now it’s finally here.
"The fact that the car is completely new and the only real issue we had was replacing one sensor is phenomenal.
"The car has a lot of incredible qualities that we haven’t even scratched the surface of yet.
It's expected to weigh around 100 pounds less than the current car, and after the early returns from Rossi, drivers will be eager to get their hands on it.
