The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has issued show-cause notices to the owners and chief executive officers (CEOs) of 13 housing schemes over alleged illegal development, plot booking, and advertising activities. The schemes were found to be in violation of Section 12(5) of the Punjab Development of Cities Act, 1976, and Rule 4 of the Punjab Development Authorities Private Housing Scheme Rules, 2021. RDA warned the public against investing in illegal or unapproved housing schemes and advised citizens to verify the legal status of a project before purchasing or booking a plot. The authority warned that strict legal action would be taken against those who fail to comply. The RDA DG also instructed the MP&TE Directorate to continue taking action against unauthorized housing schemes, illegal commercial activities, booking offices, and encroachments without fear or favor.
