SRINAGAR : US President Donald Trump on Saturday claimed that Middle East allies have outlined the framework of a deal aimed at ending the five-month-old war with Iran, saying he would, for now, refrain from ordering fresh military strikes against Tehran. He also claimed that Israel had agreed to work with the United States in pursuing an agreement with Iran that could bring the conflict to an end. The call, first reported by Axios, came as Trump was considering additional strikes on Iran. Trump has vowed retaliation after Iran allegedly attempted a surprise attack on a US military base in Jordan earlier this week. Speaking to reporters on Friday, he said the United States would hit Iran “very hard” until it could no longer continue its actions.
