Lifeboat called to help sailor struggling against deteriorating conditions

Fishguard lifeboat crew was tasked to rescue a small sailing boat with one person on board that had got into trouble in the harbour.
Th sailor was reported to be struggling against conditions in the harbour and Fishguard’s D class lifeboat, Edward Arthur Richardson, was tasked to launch to their aid.
The volunteer crew was paged at 10.17am on Friday, when sea conditions were becoming more difficult due to the impending onslaught of Storm Amy.
As the volunteer crew was preparing to launch further information was received that the vessel had made it safely to the slip at Goodwick.
As the sailor required no further assistance, the lifeboat was stood down prior to launch.
