Samsung’s latest foldable phones appear to be off to a flying start, with the company revealing record pre-order numbers for its new Galaxy Z Fold 8 series and Galaxy Z Flip 8. According to Samsung, the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra and Galaxy Z Flip 8 collectively attracted 271,000 pre-orders in India within their first 72 hours. That’s a significant improvement over last year’s launch – Samsung notes it took 15 days for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 to reach the same milestone. Sitting at the top of the range is the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, which starts at INR 199,999 (approximately $2,090). While it’s too early to judge long-term sales, Samsung’s latest figures suggest foldables are gaining momentum faster than previous generations.
