Mr. James A. Winkler, 86, of Henderson, Illinois, died at 2:25 p.m. Friday, August 22, 2025, at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg, Illinois. James was born February 5, 1939, in Peoria, Illinois, to Richard and Una Margaret (Owen) Winkler, Sr. Surviving are two sons, Allen (and Sherri McGlown) Winkler of Galesburg and Jim (and Kim) Winkler of Alexis, five daughters, a sister, Sandra Bertelsen of Alexis, several grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Richard “Duke” Winkler, Jr.James farmed in the Alexis area most of his life. He also owned and operated his family business, Winkler Standard Gas Station and later Winkler Towing Company in Galesburg.
