First, my deepest condolences go out to the family and friends of the two people who lost their lives in this attack. My thoughts are also with the community in Manchester that has been affected by this dreadful attack, as well as the wider Jewish community across the UK. While I of course welcome the Prime Minister’s pledge to increase security in Jewish communities it should be a cause of immense sadness to all of us that this is even necessary. After all, how can we possibly understand each other, if we aren’t prepared to listen to people with other views? So while we offer our condolences, and stand with the Jewish community, we have to do our part to build a society in which nobody has to live in fear.
