A KLM aircraft at Inverness Airport (stock image). Air passengers are being urged to check their flights before travel after Storm Amy sparked a string of cancellations in and out of north airports. Numerous flights in and out of Inverness and Aberdeen’s airports were not flying on Saturday morning, as the gale force winds continued to rage and an amber weather warning remained in force. At the time of writing, the 10.20am and 11.45am arrivals into Inverness Airport from Stornoway and Sumburgh were both cancelled. And departures from the Dalcross airfield to Amsterdam (6.25am), Gatwick (7am), Sumburgh (7.40am) and Stornoway 10.50am) were also not flying.
