The Kano State Police Command has announced two major breakthroughs in its fight against crime, recovering suspected stolen property worth millions of naira and arresting suspects linked to a violent robbery.
In a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa in Saturday, the Command disclosed that detectives attached to the Sharada Division recovered 160 solar inverters valued at ₦59.2 million.
The Command urged residents who may have lost similar inverters to report to Sharada Division or contact the Divisional Police Officer for identification and recovery.
The suspects, Bishir Abubakar, 60; Shamsu Abdullahi, 30; and Alhaji Shamsu Lawan, 56, confessed to buying the stolen machines from a Kaduna-based accomplice, now at large, for ₦5.2 million.
He also warned residents against patronizing goods sold at suspiciously low prices.
