The Katsina State Police Command has foiled a suspected bandit attack on Sabon Gulbi Village in Musawa Local Government Area, killing one of the attackers and recovering an AK-47 rifle, ammunition and an operational motorcycle. The command said the operation was carried out by a joint tactical team comprising police operatives and personnel of the Katsina State Community Watch Corps (KSCWC). He said the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Musawa immediately mobilised the joint security team to the community, where they engaged the attackers in a fierce gun battle. “The operatives successfully repelled the attack, neutralising one of the bandits, while several others escaped with varying degrees of gunshot injuries,” the statement said. According to the statement, the State Commissioner of Police, Ali Umar Fage, praised the synergy between the police and the Katsina State Community Watch Corps, while commending the operatives for their bravery and professionalism.
