A second suspect has been arrested in connection with a stabbing at a convenience store in Abingdon, with the Knox County Sheriff’s Office continuing to investigate the August 30, incident for possible additional suspects. Jacob A. Smith, 22, of Abingdon, was arrested on a warrant and charged with three Class 3 felonies: aggravated battery to a physically handicapped individual, aggravated battery in a public place, and possession of less than 5 grams of methamphetamine. Smith was transported to the Knox County Jail, where he is being held without pretrial release conditions. Hamblen was identified through surveillance footage and witness statements and remains in custody at the Knox County Jail.
