Ms Davodi was refused a new HMO licence in May but has now secured one, after appealing to the Sheriff of Glasgow and Strathkelvin. Her case was remitted back to the council’s licensing committee, which, after hearing from her lawyer, granted a restricted one-year licence. Councillors also issued a severe warning over the future management of the premises. Cllr Alex Wilson, SNP, who chairs the city’s licensing committee, said the property had been unlicensed and “insurance would have been invalid”. Mr Shafaatulla had told the committee he had missed the renewal deadline due to a “family emergency”.
