Her sister Mary joined her in Glasgow Corporation Transport uniform as a conductress at Govan Depot and, like Madge, went on to become a tram driver. Madge left the service in February 1954 when she was married - married women were not employed by Glasgow Corporation Transport, as was normal national employment practice at the time.
