Save Paisley’s Green Space (SPGS) are calling for veteran trees on Dykebar Hospital grounds, off Grahamston Road, to be spared when construction work begins. They compared the trees to the Sycamore Gap tree in Northumberland, which was illegally felled in 2023 leading to a massive outcry. A spokesperson for SPGS said: “There’s one particularly big one the tree survey has marked as veteran. Save Paisley’s Green Space raised concerns that planning permission was given to remove trees before all planning conditions for the development were met. “In addition, separate treeworks consents were also granted in relation to the works at Dykebar Hospital.
