Pupils from city schools are to play a key role in shaping an "action plan" to tackle the problem. A report to Glasgow City Council’s Education, Skills and Early Years City Committee, which meets on Thursday (October 2), explains that in primary school, the uptake of services such as play and art therapy and online mental health networks such as Kooth and Togetherall is comparable between girls and boys. However, when young people reach high school, only 30 percent of boys use the services, compared to 70 percent of girls. In response, Glasgow City Council’s education team plans to run a year-long project kicking off with a conference in January. “Joining forces with stakeholders, this will be a launch event to allow the young people to set the agenda, highlight the issues and influence the solutions.
