News Headline -The spokesman of late former President Muhammadu Buhari have dismissed Goodluck Jonathan’s recent claim that Boko Haram terrorists once nominated Buhari to negotiate with the government on their behalf. He said the terrorists’ leaders, Muhammed Yusuf and Abubakar Shekau, had always opposed Buhari’s ideology and never sought him as a mediator. The statement referenced records from 2011–2014, when Buhari, through his party, the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), denied any knowledge of being approached by Boko Haram. The then CPC Secretary, Buba Galadima, and the party’s publicity secretary, Rotimi Fashekun, had both publicly dismissed the claim as political propaganda. He also alleged that the ruling party was complicit in the country’s insecurity, describing it as the “Political Boko Haram.”Shehu’s statement concluded by urging Jonathan to “look for another story to tell Nigerians” ahead of the 2027 elections.
