Amnesty International on Thursday warned that India’s weapons exports to Israel may violate international law and contribute to the ongoing genocide in Gaza. In an investigative report, Amnesty International examined public trade data to assess the scope of India’s material support for Israel and for “international crimes committed against Palestinians in Gaza.” Amnesty International clarified that it excluded shipments which were likely intended for anti-missile defense and civilian use. Rights groups, including Amnesty International, have also put forth proposals for arms bans and embargoes in an effort to put pressure on Israel and prevent genocide. Amnesty International highlighted that India is not a signatory to the Arms Trade Treaty (ATT), which regulates international trade in conventional arms.
