Five arrested including key supplier and delivery agentDimapur, August 1 (MExN): Dimapur Police have busted an organised interstate drug trafficking syndicate with links across three states and a Nigerian national, arresting an alleged major cocaine supplier and four others, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime)/PRO, Dimapur, said on Saturday. The investigation has revealed that the syndicate allegedly procured and distributed cocaine through commercial courier and parcel delivery channels, including through DTDC Courier Services, using a structured network of suppliers, handlers and delivery agents, police said. Two more accused, presently based outside Nagaland, are absconding, and sustained efforts are underway to secure their arrest, they said. Preliminary investigation indicates the syndicate operated in an organised manner, with clearly defined roles for procurement, payment layering, interstate transportation, courier-based delivery and distribution of cocaine through commercial logistics channels, police said. Dimapur Police reiterated its firm commitment to dismantling organised drug trafficking syndicates and ensuring that all persons involved in the illicit narcotics trade are brought to justice under the NDPS Act, 1985.
