In almost all areas, the groundwater table observed a rise between 1 and 2 metres below the ground level (mgbl). “The groundwater table in Marredpally, Bandlaguda, Charminar, Himayatnagar, Ameerpet, Khairatabad, and Secunderabad improved and also rose, ” the GWD official explained. However, these bookings dipped to 2,500 to 3,000 due to heavy rains and an increase in the groundwater table. City-based environmentalists attribute the bountiful rains experienced by the city to a significant boost in its groundwater levels.
