SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced scheduled power shutdowns across several parts of the Valley between August 3 and August 8 to facilitate maintenance of multiple 33 kV transmission lines. According to the Chief Engineer, Distribution, KPDCL, electricity supply will remain affected in different areas of Baramulla, Sopore, Budgam, Chadoora, Charar-i-Sharief and Pampore during the notified shutdown periods. A shutdown of the 33 kV Budgam line will affect Budgam, Sabdan, Nasrullahpora, Jawalapora, Ompora, SIDCO, Railway Station Budgam, NIFT and adjoining areas from 8 am to 2 pm on August 3 and August 6. The 33 kV Delina-Sopore Tap Line will remain shut from 9 am to 2 pm on August 4 and August 8, disrupting power supply to Krankshiven Colony, Old Town Sopore, Amargarh, Wagub and neighbouring areas. KPDCL has advised consumers in the affected areas to plan accordingly as the shutdowns are being undertaken to carry out essential maintenance works.
