In the message, President Trump wrote: “The United States is clear: we recognize Morocco’s sovereignty over Western Sahara, and we support Morocco’s serious, credible, and realistic autonomy proposal as the only basis for a just and lasting solution to the dispute.”
He added that “any other path would only prolong the status quo and is unacceptable…This dispute must end now, and the United States will continue to push toward that goal.”
In the message sent on the occasion of the Kingdom’s celebration of the 27th anniversary of Throne Day, President Trump extended his congratulations to King Mohammed VI and the Moroccan people, praising the strength of the longstanding ties between the two countries.
On political and security matters, the U.S. president highlighted Morocco’s role in promoting regional stability, describing King Mohammed VI’s wise leadership as a cornerstone of stability.
Trump said that King Mohammed VI’s vision for growth opens new prospects for prosperity for both countries’ peoples, and economies.”
