Mistakes by an inexperienced Galesburg Football team helped Dunlap come away from the home opener at Van Dyke Field with a 17-14 win over the Silver Streaks. The Eagles scored on the second play from scrimmage, a 69yd touchdown run by Hunter Mitchell, to take an early 7-0 lead over Galesburg. A 67yd catch and run from Jacob Ross to Moren helped the Streaks tie the game at 14, and then the Streaks could have taken a lead in the 4th quarter but missed a 22yd field goal. Dunlap came back and hit a wind aided 40yd field goal with just over 4 1/2 minutes left in the game and that ended up being the difference 17-14. Kick-off time is set for 7:30pm with a pregame of 7:06pm with play by play from Brad Bennewitz and Jim Lee on 93.7FM and 1400Am WGIL, WGIL.com, or the TuneIn app!
