The 99-unit property, called Visions Park, sits beside the Blind Center of Nevada's main campus, a placement meant to shorten the distance between residents and the services they rely on. Blind Center of Nevada President and CEO Todd Imholte said the idea took shape after staff asked clients about their biggest struggle, and affordable housing came up repeatedly. “The people we're serving that are given a Social Security check before Visions Park — they're living, couch surfing at a friend's house. I mean, it's just, in my mind, I thought it was just designed specifically for me. I know it wasn't, but I mean, it's everything that I look for in a place to live,” Chidthai said.
