(NewsNation) — Mississippi's autopsy of Nolan Wells has been completed, according to reports, but the results are not yet public. The results are expected to be sealed until the autopsy is presented to a grand jury, which will determine whether a crime occurred. Nolan Wells family attorney says boat distress call from day he disappeared to be reviewedWells, 18, disappeared from Mississippi's Horn Island on July 4, 2026, and his body was found two days later. Authorities have said they believe it is likely that Wells's death was an accidental drowning. An independent autopsy conducted at the request of the family found the cause and manner of death "undetermined pending investigation."
