Lord Baden-Powell was a lieutenant-general in the British Army, writer, founder of the Scouting movement and first Chief Scout of The Boy Scouts Association. On Aug. 1, 1907, Baden-Powell started a camping trip with a group of boys in England. The Boy Scouts originated in England under the guidance of Lord Robert Baden-Powell in 1909.
