In the fall, the Norwalk boys and girls cross country teams both qualified for the Class 4A State Meet in Fort Dodge. The Norwalk boys golf team qualified for their first State Meet in six years and placed ninth in the Class 4A field, led by Tillman Papcun’s 15th-place individual finish. Junior Mallory Betts and sophomore Eva Smith competed for Des Moines Lincoln’s 400-yard freestyle relay at the Girls State Swimming and Diving Championships. Three Norwalk athletes competed in the Boys State Swimming and Diving Championships in February. Kraft, Plourde and sophomore Daxton Hughes all competed on two state meet relays as well.
