At the Board of County Commissioners meeting on July 14, two representatives of the Byers Peak Metropolitan Districts 1-7 requested that Byers Peak Ranch join a proposed regional transportation authority that would serve the greater Grand Park community. A regional transportation authority is a type of local government where representative members of each area make decisions about transportation infrastructure, and funding is locally collected. Byers Peak Ranch wants inFiling 3 of a construction project in Byers Peak Ranch is currently under planning review. The county required transit for approval, so Nicole Peykov, a lawyer representing Byers Peak Ranch, explained that adding Byers Peak would satisfy the requirement and benefit future residents. Clark Lipscomb, the second representative and developer of Byers Peak Ranch, said the transportation authority intends to impose a property tax to fund the infrastructure.
