Some restaurants are now prohibited from handing out single-use plastic utensils and condiments without a customer asking for them. Environmentalists have hailed the new law as the strongest in the country for reducing plastic waste. “If we want to reduce plastic waste and pollution and keep millions of kitchen junk drawers free of unneeded plastic utensils, this is a win for reducing plastics. It’s a win for businesses that don’t need to give out as many plastic utensils.”
