Thursday night, the Galesburg High School girls basketball team went on the road to Geneseo to take on the Maple Leafs and came away with their 21st win of the season, 45 - 22. In a much more competitive match-up than their first meeting in December, Geneseo kept the Silver Streaks off balance at times by switching their defense. Galesburg had 36 rebounds, 9 assists and the Maple Leafs' switching defense forced 22 turnovers by the Streaks. Galesburg's defense also caused trouble for Geneseo as the Maple Leafs committed 34 turnovers. Sophia came off the bench in the 4th quarter and provided a big spark for the Streaks to help her team get back on track after Geneseo had chipped away at the lead.
