articleThe Brief A new National Military Monument is on display honoring more than 41 million Americans who have served in the U.S. military across America’s 250‑year history. The exhibit is on display on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C. The monument is free to visit and is open every day from 10 a.m. - 10 p.m. and will be on display until August 23. The list of names will continue to grow as veterans and families verify military service and submit names not yet represented. Some currently serving military members and veterans may not appear because of privacy protections or gaps in historical records.
