The Galesburg High School girls basketball team clinched the Regional Championship with a 45 - 37 win over the Dunlap Eagles Thursday night at Peoria Richwoods. The Silver Streaks now advance to the Sectional Semifinal game next Tuesday (2/25) night at Ottawa Township where they will take on Washington. Coach Lexi Demott has led the Silver Streaks to a Regional Title in her first year as head coach. During the postgame broadcast, WGIL's Jason Wessels made the observation that nine years ago Demott was a player on the Silver Streaks team that beat Dunlap at Dunlap for a Regional Title then, and now she is a Regional Champ as the head coach of the Streaks. The Silver Streaks were 16 of 39 from the field, 2 of 9 from downtown, and 12 of 18 from the free throw line.
