The Galesburg Silver Streaks football team had their 2025 season home opener against Dunlap cut short due to lighting. The Eagles led 29 - 0 at halftime with the Silver Streaks barely in positive yardage at 3 yards for the half. Even with the shortened game, Dunlap showed why their hopes are high for the kind of success they could have this season in the always tough Mid-Illini Conference. And in two weeks the Streaks will be back at home to take on United Township for their Homecoming game. In the early game, the Galesburg Freshmen fell to Dunlap, 21 - 14.
