Dutch ASW Frigate with USV conceptThe new Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) frigates of the Royal Netherlands Navy will each be equipped with a 12-meter-long unmanned vessel (USV). The Dutch MoD gave the green light July 29 to Dutch Naval Design (DND) to start the design. A number of parties within DND had submitted a proposal under the name USV Alliance. Dipping sonarsWhen designing the new 12-meter unmanned vessels, the builders must immediately take into account the integration of various new systems. These dipping sonars increase the frigate's field of view without revealing the ship's location.
