Like most people in Ireland, prick me today and I’m still bleeding the green and red of Mayo.
There are thought to be about 200 bottles in existence which retail for between about £1,250 and £1,750.
One of these rarities was presented to the Mayo team and their manager, Andy Moran (pictured), at their homecoming celebrations in Westport on Monday.
For more info or for details on their more affordable 12, 14 and 16 year old single malts, visit www.knappoguewhiskey.com.
You should have seen the tears streaming down her beautiful face when the final hooter sounded and Mayo’s victory was confirmed.
