Kelowna NewsKelowna motorcycle memorial vandalized, fiancé devastatedRoadside memorial trashedRob GibsonA Kelowna man is speaking out after a roadside memorial dedicated to his late fiancée was vandalized and destroyed near the brake check on Highway 33, just outside Black Mountain, this past week. Erin Jessica Lewis, 32, died on August 26, 2020, when the motorcycle she was riding on Highway 33 collided with an oncoming pickup truck. Lewis worked as a teaching assistant with School District 23, supporting children with disabilities, and was also employed with WestJet. Graham Mackrow, who was engaged to Lewis and was riding just ahead of her when the crash happened, has maintained a memorial at the crash site for nearly six years. He returned to the site on a motorcycle ride with a friend and found the memorial had been stripped and destroyed.
