A development permit application for the project is on the agenda for Salmon Arm’s development and planning services committee meeting. According to the application, the apartment building, proposed for 10th Street SW and 10th Avenue SW, would include 100 rental units and retail space on the bottom floor. Fewer parking stalls requestedThe developer is requesting a variance to allow for 136 off-street parking stalls rather than the 159 that would typically be required for a building this size. She said the 136 stalls proposed should be “sufficient to accommodate the parking requirements," but noted future use of the commercial spaces planned for the ground floor should be chosen based on the available parking stalls.
