A banned disposable BBQ triggered a devastating wildfire which killed animals at Cannock Chase.
Crews from Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service tackled the large fire after they were called at 6pm on Thursday, July 30.
Advertisement AdvertisementAdvertisement AdvertisementInitially Chase Road, from the Camp Road turning to Brocton Nursery, was temporarily closed "to reduce the risk of smouldering areas reigniting".

Group Manager Rich Williams, who attended the scene, said: "We believe this fire was caused by a disposable barbeque, which are banned on Cannock Chase due to the dangers that they pose.
