Kokomo - Doris Delaine South, 85, of Kokomo, passed away peacefully at 5:19 a.m. on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at North Woods Village in Kokomo. Doris is survived by her devoted husband of 66 years, James David South, whom she married on June 24, 1960, in Folkston, Georgia. A 1960 graduate of Warren Central High School in Indianapolis and a former reigning queen of Brackentown, Tennessee, Doris devoted her life to caring for others. Doris enjoyed a variety of hobbies and interests. Doris also enjoyed true crime documentaries, The Bold and the Beautiful, and almost any game show.
