Jimmie Carr just might have watched more Galesburg basketball games than anyone. A former Streaks player in the late 1950s, a radio broadcaster spanning six decades, and now a super fan, Jimmie Carr has been a fixture around Galesburg High School basketball for more than 70 years. Jimmie played three seasons for legendary Galesburg Coach John Thiel. A career radio sales consultant — including many years at WGIL — Jimmie was an instantly recognizable and popular radio voice for Streaks basketball from the 1960s through 2017, serving as a color analyst for both Galesburg boys and later girls basketball. The Galesburg Athletic Hall of Famer joins WGIL Content Director Jay Redfern to talk Silver Streaks basketball.
