The Office of the Cooperative Ombudsman has directed Sai Seva Multi State Cooperative Credit Society Ltd., Ahilyanagar, Maharashtra, to refund more than Rs 24 lakh, along with applicable interest, to two aggrieved depositors within 30 days. According to the order, Dandekar had invested Rs 12 lakh through 12 fixed deposits between May 2024 and September 2025 and sought repayment in February and March 2026. Hole had invested Rs 12.25 lakh in nine fixed deposits between October 2022 and May 2025 and also maintained a savings account with the society. The Ombudsman’s office noted that despite issuing notices to the society on April 30 and May 27, 2026, no response was received. The society has now been directed to pay the claimed deposits with up-to-date interest within 30 days and submit a compliance report to the Cooperative Ombudsman’s office.
