In recognition of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Geisinger is turning its hospitals pink and rolling out mobile mammograms across the region to highlight the importance of early detection.
Throughout October, Geisinger hospitals will be illuminated in pink, serving as a visual reminder of breast cancer awareness.
Meanwhile, the health system’s pink mobile mammogram bus will bring screenings to underserved communities.
“Early detection remains one of the most powerful tools in the fight against breast cancer,” said Robin Skrine, M.D., director of breast surgery at Geisinger.
Tools and resourcesIn addition to screenings, Geisinger encourages patients to assess their breast cancer risk online through its tool at geisinger.org/my-breast-cancer-risk.
